The EPIC Conference is just around the corner — and this year it takes us to Helsinki, from September 16 to 19. Hosted at Dipoli, Aalto University, this gathering offers an opportunity for anyone using ethnography to shape the business, technology, and organizational futures. Ethnography—an approach grounded in close observation and contextual listening—offers the depth needed to transform human insight into practical strategy.

Its members explore cultural dynamics, reimagine organizational practices, and share ways ethnography drives innovation and informed decision-making. EPIC is a place where rigor meets relevance, and where ideas spark collaboration.
EPIC2025 Helsinki theme: Intelligences
This year’s theme, Intelligences, invites us to reconsider what intelligence means across human, social, technical, and ecological systems. Sessions will explore questions such as:
How can ethnographic work reveal and model collective intelligence?
Where do qualitative insights give us an edge in designing more ethical, inclusive, and sustainable systems?
Who counts as “intelligent,” and who gets excluded?
It’s an invitation to push qualitative research beyond description — toward shaping how organizations navigate complexity.
